Join us as Duxbury celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States with a once-in-a-generation Fourth of July celebration! This year's theme, ⚓ Anchored in History: Duxbury 1776–2026, honors our town's rich shipbuilding heritage, proud maritime traditions, and the generations of residents who have shaped Duxbury into the community it is today.
The parade steps off at 2:00 PM from Halls Corner, travels down Washington Street, turns onto St. George Street, and concludes at Duxbury High School. The approximately two-mile route typically takes 1–2 hours, depending on the number of floats, bands, and participants. The parade is free and open to everyone, so bring your family, along with chairs or blankets, and enjoy an afternoon celebrating America's 250th birthday. Please see the FAQs page for more information.
Whether you're watching from the sidelines or marching in the parade, we invite everyone to be part of this historic celebration. Thank you to the local organizations, community members, sports teams, neighborhoods and families who have registered to showcase their creativity, patriotism, and Duxbury pride.
This cherished community tradition is made possible by dedicated volunteers and the generous support of sponsors and donors. Together, let's celebrate 250 years of American independence and Duxbury's enduring legacy with an unforgettable afternoon of history, patriotism, music, and hometown pride.
The Duxbury 4th of July Parade will take place as scheduled, even in hot weather.
If you're planning to attend, please come prepared for the heat. Bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen, dress in lightweight clothing, and consider bringing hats, umbrellas, or other items to provide shade. We also encourage everyone to take breaks in the shade whenever possible and stay hydrated throughout the day.
We look forward to celebrating with you and appreciate your help in making it a safe and enjoyable day for everyone!
